Home Business Blog of a Mad Housewife – is Making a Ristra on Wednesday Morning Good for Business?

I think the real question here is whether taking time out for fun during “normal business hours” is good for your home business. I, um, kind of did that today. You see I have this new home business, which is why I also have this new home business blog (because my sponsor told me I needed one), and so I am still mastering the art of doing justice to the business while honoring what I like to tell myself are my needs for personal fulfillment and satisfaction.

Personal fulfillment and satisfaction are the reasons I got into this home based business in the first place, so if I can’t honor them then what good am I?

Let’s put it like this. I was going crazy in my other, former life. Never getting ahead, bowing and scraping, feeling no sense of accomplishment whatsoever. Then I met my sponsor and totally fell in love with her and everything she stood for and was doing. And knew that if she could do it, I could too. So I dove off into my new network marketing home based business with her. And started this silly home business blog, as per her instructions.

But I’m getting off track here. What does all this have to do with making a ristra on Wednesday morning? What IS a ristra anyway, one might ask. Well, to get that question out of the way, a ristra is a string of red chile peppers like one might see in ads for fancy hotels or spas in the Southwest. So anyway, back to the original question.

You see, around the same time I started my home based business and home business blog, I also started a Wednesday morning Spanish class. I mean, alllll morning, speaking only Spanish. Fortunately this class is held in a neighbor’s home, and she is a good teacher, so in spite of the fact that it fries your brain by about the second hour, it is on the whole a really great experience. And I think I am enhancing my Spanish-speaking skills infintessimally each week. Maybe.

I’m still not getting to the point. Sorry. You see, some weeks our class time includes doing something practical, like gardening, or, this week, making a ristra! Because it is fall and the chile peppers are red, and that’s what people around here do this time of year (new to me, I just moved here . . .). Well, it was really fun! I mean like majorly! So of course now there is the question of how guilty to feel for having fun during business hours doing something totally unrelated to one’s business, instead of just studying Spanish, which one might feel guilty enough about on its own. So to resolve the dilemma I decided the issue simply must end up in my home business blog. Perhaps there I will find some solace, or someone will commend me for studying a foreign language, or will tell me that we all need appropriately spaced breaks from work, no matter when they occur or what our work may be. Stuff like that.

I’m not really sure where I’m going with all this. I think I’ve written myself into a corner here in this home business blog. So I think I will just here and now unilaterally decide and state openly that making a ristra on Wednesday morning is very good for business because it nourishes the soul. How’s that.

I haven’t checked with my sponsor yet, but I think I will now recommend to my soon-to-become-huge downline that they do the same. I mean, maybe not build ristras on Wednesday mornings, but do some equivalently frivolous act off-schedule. After all, we’re in this for personal fulfillment and satisfaction. Stay tuned . . . mattie mcnutt

Why do some people…..??
think its ok to show thier dissaproval of your personal opinion by attacking your character? i was recently told i should not be allowed to vote because of what my profile information says.

☼grundle goat☼ – About me: i am Polly, a 24 year old happily commited lesbian, housewife, recovering addict, and proud parent :) …….i am a medicated bipolar person etc.

***Proof that some people should not be allowed to vote.**** (is what they said)

wtf? would it have made them happier to know i was a drug addicted sl*t off my meds with children that i abused? just because they disagreed with my opinion they felt it necessary to attack my personal life. how hypocritical is that? if i was ashamed of my life and my accomplishments i wouldnt have posted it for the world to see. i know i just wasted 5 points btw. your opinion is your opinion but there is no need to make personal attacks, we arent politicians.

  • I don't get the sense that a lot of women are becoming homemakers for the rest of their lives after college. Even those who eventually go in that direction generally work for a number of years before they do that. It is a choice, and while it wasn't something I would have wanted, I think it is wonderful that some people are fortunate enough to have that choice. Others may work at jobs that don't use their degrees either, so what is the difference?

I can tell you a story: When I was in college, I dropped out twice. I was very unhappy with my major and had a problem with depression that hadn't been fully recognized. Finally, I decided to go back to school in a different major. At the time, I was working as a waitress, and when I told one of my customers that I had decided to go back, he said to me, "Why would you do that? You've already gone to college twice, and you haven't found a husband yet!" Now, 35 years later, I not only have my bachelors degree, but a masters and two doctorates as well. They have given me a wonderful career, and I'm very happy. But you know what? I still don't have a husband! And I can't say that I regret that terribly.

It's usually a married woman who does not work out side the home. She stays home cleaning, cooking, decorating—her job is to keep the home life humming smoothly.

I pulled this on my hubby a few months ago, gave him a "Bill" for services rendered…….It was, based on minamum wage in this state (La.), close to $1,300,000, if I remember correctly. That included charges for "Miscellaneous services rendered"…..LOL
Plus being doctor, nurse, banker, personal assistant, laundress, housekeeper etc….

First, I commend you on seeking a solution that does not dishonor your marriage vows. Female masturbation has so many methods that it really depends on your level of comfort with your body and what you like. You have to explore to see what type of touch arouses you. Try initially just beginning to rub your breasts and genital area with varied levels of pressure and circular motion (KY jelly or baby oil work well as lubricants). Keep your husband's picture handy so you will still feel that sense of intimacy with him. Also, try a vibrating rabbit (www.shoperotictv.com) which will open up a whole new world to you. You can actually call a private 800# at the site, and talk to the specialist who will recommend some things for you based on what you like. Last of all, don't be afraid to explore your own body without shame. It is a thing of beauty and is exquisite in its own way. Remember we women put the "Wo" in man. If you get bored with these suggestions, google female masturbation for varied techniques. Have fun!

Well let me give you my point of view here. I too worked from the time I was 15 til just last yr. (now 37) I have two teen daughters and a husband who is OTR truck driver (stays gone most of the time) So far you seem to be off to a good start…You have internet….LOL this will help to keep your sanity when you have nothing left to do. You can only clean the house so much or wash clothes so much, I do little things daily. I sleep as late as I want. Get up do whatever dishes there are, wash a load or two, and in between either play on here or watch a tv show or two. Today I am going to work out in the yard some. (We have dogs that tear it up and crap everywhere…ewww…) If I have errands to do, I do them. Everything is on my time table. I LOVE IT I used to think I would not adapt to staying at home, but I was wrong…Now I can't see my self working a full time job again. Financially I should never have to, but still the feeling is great. I am here when the girls get home. I know more about what is going on in theie lives now. I find myself wanting to listen to them more when they want to tell me something. They like the feeling of knowing if they should ever need me during the day, I am only a phone call away now. No more ""call your grandfather because I cant get off work, or cant afford to get off work" I can just grab my keys and go now. If I dont get everything that needs done finished in one day….So what??? There is tomorrow….I have plenty of time to get all the projects done that I want to do. I just make a list of things big or little that needs done, and work on the list…When I get it finished I look around and make a new list……It works great for me…Good luck, and if you ever want to chat you can email me or msg me @ tinamzlater@yahoo..com !!!! :)

The first step is to get rid of the clutter and get things in order. The best way to eliminate clutter is to do small sections at a time. Pick either a closet, a cupboard, a drawer or a corner of the garage. Focusing on a smaller area is less overwhelming. Take everything out of that space and divide it into three piles: keep, throw away, or donate/sell. After everything is sorted, put the “keep” pile away in an organized manner. Immediately discard the “throw away” pile, and then either drop off donations or start the selling process of the remaining items. Stay focused until the space is entirely done and then enjoy your accomplishment!

Make sure you have a filing cabinet for personal papers. You want to divide your papers into categories and then make corresponding file folders. Be specific so you are able to find it when you need it.

Once everything is organized, you have to make a conscious decision to keep it that way. Being organized is a choice and a way of life. It is about creating and maintaining good habits.
